Focus Group

image.png

Each partner association organizes at least one focus group with 10 women.

These groups include women with diverse experiences in various areas of life, facing different barriers and difficulties, and exploring how they cope with them.

Focus groups are held in workshops where information is gathered to develop the curriculum content.

The focus groups include:

- Cisgender women and people on the FLINTA spectrum (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender).

- Adult educators and family counselors are responsible for instructing courses on women's empowerment.

- Settings of women that encompass a variety of contexts, including family, work, and political environments.

- Self-help groups: Especially in the context of the Socialinis Hubas organisation, which works with disadvantaged people.

Participants for the focus groups have been selected according to the following criteria:

  1. Participant profile:

- Women from different social groups.

- Women who face gender-specific barriers in various areas of life.

- Women on the FLINTA spectrum (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender).

  1. Context and recruitment of partner organisations. Each partner organisation works with women in different contexts and with various disadvantages:

- SiB: Mothers with high levels of stress and queer women.

- AIFED: Women with little formal education and from migrant backgrounds.

- SocHub and FemEdu: Socially disadvantaged women affected by discrimination.

The partner organisations have good contacts with the target groups and have already worked with them, which facilitates recruitment. Each focus group has at least 10 participants.

  1. Methodology:

The focus groups are conducted in the form of a workshop, where personal experiences about gender-specific barriers and how they are addressed are exchanged.
